Possible Causes

Open or shorted upper zone NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from evaporator or cabinet wall, Damaged sensor harness in upper compartment, Faulty upper-zone sensor circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: Disconnect power before opening any panels. Avoid contact with sharp metal edges inside the cabinet.

  • Confirm the zone: On dual-zone Aobosi models, E1 typically refers to the upper compartment sensor. Verify in your user manual if available.
  • Locate the sensor: Inside the upper zone, look for a small plastic cover or probe emerging from the back or side wall. This is usually the NTC sensor location.
  • Check mounting: Ensure the sensor tip is properly clipped or inserted into its holder and not hanging loose. A sensor dangling in free air can cause incorrect readings and trigger E1.
  • Access wiring: Remove the interior back panel of the upper zone (if accessible) or the rear external panel to trace the sensor wires back to the main board. Inspect for pinched, cut, or corroded wires.
  • Test the sensor: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the upper-zone sensor from the board and measure resistance. Compare to the expected NTC value at room temperature. If the reading is 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open), the sensor is defective.
  • Replace the sensor: Install a new Aobosi-compatible upper-zone NTC sensor. Feed the new wire through the same passage, seal any grommets to prevent moisture ingress, and secure the sensor in its original position.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit panels, restore power, clear the error by power-cycling, and monitor the temperature display for stability.
