Possible Causes

Failed DC evaporator fan motor, Obstructed fan blades by wiring or ice, Loose fan connector on control board, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety notice: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before accessing the fan or control board.

  • Listen for fan operation: With the door closed and unit powered (before unplugging), listen for the internal fan starting a few minutes after the compressor. If silent, proceed with inspection.
  • Access the fan: Unplug the cooler. Remove shelves and the interior rear panel of the affected zone to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.
  • Check for obstructions: Inspect the fan blades for ice buildup, labels, or wires rubbing against the blades. Clear any obstruction and ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the fan wires to their connector. Ensure the plug is firmly seated and wires are not damaged or pinched.
  • Test the fan motor: If you have a multimeter, check for continuity across the fan motor leads. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. On some DC fans, you may need to test by applying the rated DC voltage from a bench supply (only if you are qualified).
  • Replace the fan: If the motor is seized or electrically open, replace the evaporator/circulation fan with an Aobosi-compatible part. Transfer any mounting brackets or grommets from the old fan to the new one.
  • If E3 remains: The fan driver on the main PCB may be defective. In that case, replace the main control board or seek professional service.
