Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between display board and main PCB, Oxidized or corroded control connectors, Faulty touch control panel, Defective main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the top or front trim to access the control panel.
- Inspect the control panel: Remove the decorative trim or screws holding the control panel in place. Carefully pull the panel forward to expose the wiring and ribbon cables.
- Check cable seating: Locate the flat ribbon cable or harness connecting the display/touch board to the main PCB. Ensure it is fully inserted and locked in place at both ends.
- Clean connectors: If you see light corrosion, disconnect the cable and gently clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free swab. Allow to dry completely before reconnecting.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or liquid ingress around the control panel. Dry the area thoroughly and improve ventilation if the cooler is installed in a very humid environment.
- Panel replacement: If some buttons or segments never work even after reseating cables, replace the control/display panel with an Aobosi-compatible assembly.
- Main PCB replacement: If a known-good panel still shows E6, the main control board may be defective and should be replaced or serviced by a professional.
