Possible Causes
Incorrect setpoint or mode selection, Faulty temperature sensor reading too high, Stuck relay keeping compressor on, Control board logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing internal components. Avoid prolonged storage of wine at excessively low temperatures.
- Verify setpoint: Check the temperature setting and any special modes (e.g., fast cooling). Adjust to the recommended wine storage temperature (typically 10–18°C / 50–65°F).
- Power cycle: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in to reset the control. Observe if the compressor now cycles normally.
- Check sensor accuracy: Compare the displayed temperature with an independent thermometer inside the cabinet. If the display is much higher than actual, the sensor may be faulty, causing overcooling.
- Inspect control board: If the compressor never shuts off even when the setpoint is reached, the compressor relay on the main PCB may be stuck closed. This typically requires board replacement.
- Replace temperature sensor: If sensor readings are clearly inaccurate, replace the cabinet NTC sensor as per the sensor-related procedures.
