Possible Causes
Worn condenser fan motor bearings, Fan blade rubbing on shroud, Vibrating transformer or relay on PCB, Loose metal panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before touching the fan or control board.
- Locate the noise source: Remove the rear panel and run the unit briefly (if safe) to identify whether the noise comes from the fan or control board area.
- Inspect fan: With power off, spin the condenser fan by hand. If it feels rough or wobbly, the motor bearings are worn and the fan should be replaced.
- Check for rubbing: Ensure the fan blades are not contacting the shroud or wires. Adjust as needed.
- Tighten panels: Tighten any loose screws on the rear panel or frame that may be causing buzzing.
- Replace noisy fan: Install a new Aobosi-compatible condenser fan motor if the noise is internal to the motor.
