Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between control panel and main PCB, Moisture intrusion into touch panel, Failed user interface board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or touching any wiring.

Steps to address E6:

  • Power cycle: Unplug the cooler for 5–10 minutes to reset the electronics. If E6 reappears, continue.
  • Inspect control panel: Remove the screws securing the front control panel or top trim (depending on model). Gently pull the panel forward to access the ribbon cable.
  • Check connections: Ensure the ribbon cable or harness from the control panel is fully seated in both the panel and main board connectors. Reseat by unplugging and plugging back in.
  • Look for moisture or corrosion: If there are signs of condensation or liquid spills inside the panel, dry the area thoroughly and clean light corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
  • Test panel response: Reassemble loosely, restore power, and test buttons. If the error persists and some keys do not respond, the Arctic King control panel / user interface board is likely faulty.
  • Replace if needed: Order the correct control panel assembly for your model and swap it, transferring any decorative trim as required.

Note: If a new panel does not resolve E6, the main control board may have a communication fault and should be replaced.
