Possible Causes
Interior temperature above sensor range due to loss of cooling, Open cabinet sensor circuit, Door left open for extended period
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Immediate checks:
- Ensure door is closed: Verify the door is fully shut and the gasket is sealing all around. Correct any obstructions.
- Allow recovery time: If the door was open or the unit was recently unplugged, allow several hours for the temperature to drop. The Hi indication may clear automatically.
- Check cooling system: Listen for compressor and fan operation. If they are not running at all, check the power outlet and the unit's power switch.
- Inspect cabinet sensor: If the interior feels cool but Hi is displayed, test the cabinet temperature sensor for an open circuit and replace if necessary.
- Clean condenser and ensure ventilation: Overheating due to blocked airflow can cause high interior temperatures. Clean dust from the condenser and provide proper clearance.
Professional service: If the compressor runs but the temperature does not drop and Hi remains, the sealed system may be compromised and should be checked by a refrigeration technician.
