Possible Causes
Faulty ambient NTC sensor, Wiring harness damage between ambient sensor and PCB, Sensor dislodged from its mounting near air intake, Moisture damage on sensor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the Artevino cabinet from mains power before accessing the control panel or sensor wiring.
- Identify ambient sensor location: On many Artevino wine coolers, the ambient sensor is located near the front grille or behind the top control panel, sensing room temperature.
- Inspect sensor and mounting: Ensure the sensor is not hanging loose inside the cabinet or pressed against cold surfaces, which can cause incorrect readings.
- Check wiring: Follow the small-gauge wires from the sensor to the main control board. Look for pinched or cut insulation, especially where the harness passes through metal openings.
- Test the sensor: With a multimeter, measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to expected NTC values (similar to cabinet sensor). If reading is out of range, replace the sensor.
- Replace ambient sensor: Remove any retaining clips, install the new Artevino-compatible ambient NTC, and route wiring away from hot compressor or condenser areas.
- Reset and test: Reconnect power, clear the error by power-cycling, and verify that E3 does not return and that displayed temperature tracks room conditions more accurately.
