Possible Causes

Failed upper zone NTC sensor, Loose harness between upper sensor and PCB, Faulty upper zone control circuit on main board, Shorted sensor due to condensation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing interior panels.

  • Identify upper zone sensor: In dual-zone Balay models, the upper zone has its own NTC, usually behind a small cover on the upper compartment wall.
  • Remove cover: Take off the plastic sensor cover and gently pull out the sensor head.
  • Inspect and test: Check for moisture, corrosion, or damaged insulation. Measure resistance and compare with the lower zone sensor at similar temperature. Replace if readings are abnormal.
  • Check harness: Trace the cable to the main PCB and ensure connectors are fully seated.
  • Control board: If the sensor and wiring are fine, the upper zone control circuit on the PCB may be defective and require replacement.
