How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the appliance from mains before accessing electronic boards.
- Power cycle: Unplug the cooler for 10–15 minutes to fully discharge capacitors, then reconnect. If E8 persists, continue.
- Check harnesses: Remove the rear service panel and the front control panel. Inspect and reseat the multi-pin connectors between the display board and main control board.
- Inspect PCB: Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or signs of moisture damage on the main PCB.
- Dry environment: If condensation is present, allow the unit to dry completely before retesting.
- Replace main PCB: If wiring is intact and E8 remains, replace the main control board with the exact Balay part number. Transfer any configuration jumpers as per service documentation. This is best done by a qualified technician.
