Possible Causes
Faulty magnetic door reed switch, Misaligned door magnet, Broken door switch wiring, Defective input on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing trims or panels around the door frame.
- Check door alignment: Ensure the Blastcool door closes fully and evenly. Adjust leveling feet so the cabinet is not twisted, which can prevent the door from making proper contact.
- Inspect door gasket: Look for gaps or warped sections of the gasket that might keep the door slightly open. Warm and reshape minor distortions with a hair dryer if needed.
- Locate the door switch: Many Blastcool models use a magnetic reed switch hidden in the cabinet frame and a magnet in the door. Others use a mechanical plunger switch.
- Test the switch: For a mechanical switch, press it by hand and listen for a click; test continuity with a multimeter. For a magnetic reed switch, place a strong magnet near the sensor location and see if the alarm/light behavior changes.
- Check wiring to PCB: Remove the control panel or top trim to access the door switch connector on the main PCB. Ensure it is firmly seated and wires are intact.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new Blastcool door reed switch or door plunger switch if defective. If the door magnet is missing or weak, replace the door magnet insert as well.
- Test operation: Restore power and verify that the door alarm stops when the door is closed and that the interior light behaves correctly.
If E7 persists with a known-good switch and magnet, the main control PCB input circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
