Display shows E8 and the unit struggles to maintain set temperature, often running continuously.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before cleaning or working near the condenser and fan.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure the Blastcool wine cooler has the manufacturer-recommended clearance at the rear and sides. Do not enclose it tightly in cabinetry without proper ventilation grills.
- Clean the condenser coil: Remove the rear service panel. Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and debris from the condenser fins. Blow compressed air from inside out if available.
- Check condenser fan operation: With the panel off, briefly power the unit (then unplug again) to see if the condenser fan starts when the compressor runs. If not, follow the fan diagnostic steps (see E6).
- Inspect condenser temperature sensor: Some Blastcool models use a sensor clipped to the condenser or near the compressor. Ensure it is firmly attached and wiring is intact.
- Replace faulty parts: If the fan is not working, install a new Blastcool condenser fan motor. If the condenser sensor tests out of spec, replace it with a Blastcool condenser NTC sensor.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the rear panel, restore power, and monitor operation. E8 should clear once temperatures normalize.
Persistent E8 in a clean, well-ventilated installation may indicate a sealed system issue (high head pressure, refrigerant problem) and should be evaluated by a refrigeration technician.
