Possible Causes

Failed defrost heater, Faulty defrost sensor, Defective defrost control on PCB, Door gasket leak allowing moist air in

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the cooler before defrosting or accessing internal components.

  • Manual defrost: Turn off the unit and leave the door open to melt ice. Place towels to absorb water. Do not use sharp tools to chip ice.
  • Inspect door gasket: Replace a damaged Blastcool door gasket to prevent moist air ingress.
  • Test defrost heater and sensor: Access the evaporator, test heater continuity and sensor resistance (see E4). Replace faulty defrost heater or defrost sensor.
  • Check drain: Ensure the condensate drain is clear so meltwater can exit properly.

If frost returns quickly after these repairs, the defrost control logic on the main PCB may be faulty and should be replaced by a technician.
