Possible Causes
Blocked drain hole under evaporator, Ice buildup in drain trough, Mold or debris clogging drain tube, Kinked or misrouted drain hose at rear
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working inside the cabinet.
- Locate drain: Remove interior shelves and the rear inner panel to access the evaporator area. Find the small drain hole or trough at the bottom.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or flexible plastic rod to gently clear the drain hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- Flush with warm water: Using a turkey baster or syringe, flush warm (not boiling) water through the drain to melt ice and push debris through to the rear.
- Check rear drain hose: At the back of the unit, locate the drain hose leading to the drip tray above the compressor. Ensure it is not kinked or blocked and that it sits correctly in the tray.
- Clean drip tray: Remove and clean the drip tray if accessible to prevent odors and overflow.
