Possible Causes
Faulty cabinet temperature sensor reading too warm, Stuck compressor relay on main PCB, Miscalibrated control board, Shorted sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before accessing sensors or the control board.
- Confirm setpoint: Verify the displayed set temperature is appropriate. Adjust to a higher temperature and see if compressor run time decreases.
- Check sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet NTC sensor is properly mounted and not touching the evaporator directly, which can cause incorrect readings.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance of the cabinet sensor and compare to NTC specifications. Replace if out of range.
- Inspect control relay: On the main PCB, check the compressor relay for signs of welding or sticking. If the compressor runs continuously regardless of setpoint, replace the main control board.
- Verify with thermometer: Use an accurate thermometer inside the cabinet to confirm actual temperature after repairs.
