How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: Always unplug the BODEGA43 wine cooler before removing rear or interior panels. Sharp metal edges can cause injury—wear cut-resistant gloves.

Diagnostic steps:

  • Power cycle: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then reconnect. If E2 reappears, proceed.
  • Locate the evaporator sensor: Remove interior shelves and the rear inner plastic cover over the evaporator coil. The evaporator NTC is usually clipped directly to the evaporator tubing or mounted in a small plastic holder on the coil.
  • Inspect for ice and moisture: Heavy frost or ice buildup can damage the sensor or its wiring. Carefully defrost with the unit unplugged—do not use sharp tools; use warm air or allow time to melt.
  • Check wiring: Follow the sensor leads from the evaporator to the cabinet pass-through and then to the main control board at the back. Look for chafed insulation, broken wires, or loose connectors.
  • Measure resistance: At room temperature, the evaporator NTC should read similar to the cabinet sensor (typically 5–10 kΩ). A reading of OL (open) or near 0 Ω indicates a failed sensor.
  • Replace the sensor: If faulty, install a new evaporator temperature sensor (NTC) designed for BODEGA43 wine coolers. Clip it securely to the evaporator coil in the same position to ensure accurate defrost control.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the evaporator cover, restore power, and monitor for several hours to confirm that E2 does not return and that cooling is stable.

Note: If the sensor tests good but E2 persists, the main control board sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement.
