Ambient Temperature Sensor Failure
Display shows E3 and the ambient temperature reading is incorrect or the unit behaves erratically in warm or cold rooms.

Possible Causes
Defective ambient NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from its mounting near front grille, Damaged harness between sensor and PCB, Faulty connector on display/control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing the toe-kick or control panel areas.
How to troubleshoot:
- Locate the ambient sensor: On many BODEGA43 models, the ambient NTC is positioned near the front ventilation grille or behind the front frame to sense room temperature.
- Visual inspection: Remove the lower front grille (toe-kick) and look for a small probe or sensor head on a thin cable. Ensure it is not hanging loose or touching hot components.
- Check wiring and connector: Trace the sensor cable back to the main control board or display PCB. Confirm the plug is fully seated and wires are not pinched by the cabinet or leveling feet.
- Measure resistance: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to expected NTC values (commonly 5–10 kΩ at 20–25°C). Replace if open or shorted.
- Reposition sensor: If the sensor is intact but reading incorrectly, ensure it is mounted where it can sense room air, not directly against the condenser or compressor.
- Replace if needed: Install a new ambient temperature sensor (NTC) compatible with BODEGA43 if readings are out of range.
After repair: Restore power, clear the error by power cycling, and verify that the E3 code does not return and that the unit responds correctly to room temperature changes.
