Possible Causes

Failed ambient NTC sensor near control panel, Loose or oxidized connector at display PCB, Damaged harness between ambient sensor and main control, Faulty display/control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the outlet or breaker before removing the control panel or display housing.

Steps to address E2:

  • Locate the ambient sensor: On many Bosch wine coolers, the ambient sensor is located near the top control panel or behind the front grille, sensing room temperature.
  • Remove trim: Carefully remove the control panel trim or front grille using a non-marring tool to avoid scratching stainless steel or glass.
  • Inspect sensor and wiring: Look for a small probe or plastic-encased sensor connected by two thin wires. Check for damage, corrosion, or loose connectors.
  • Test resistance: With power disconnected, unplug the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Bosch NTC specifications. Replace if readings are open, shorted, or inconsistent.
  • Reconnect firmly: Clean any light oxidation on connectors with electrical contact cleaner and reseat firmly on the display or main control board.
  • Replace display/control PCB: If the sensor tests good but E2 persists, the display PCB or main control board may be faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
