Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan in affected zone, Faulty zone temperature sensor, Air damper stuck closed, Partial blockage in refrigerant circuit for that zone
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing internal components.
Steps to diagnose a warm zone:
- 1. Compare zones: Verify which zone is not cooling and note any error indications on the display.
- 2. Check fan operation: Open the door of the warm zone and listen for the evaporator fan. If silent, access and test the fan motor.
- 3. Sensor test: Test the temperature sensor for the warm zone as described for E1/E2. Replace if out of specification.
- 4. Air damper (if equipped): Some dual-zone models use a damper to share cooling. Ensure the damper is not stuck closed or blocked.
- 5. Sealed system: If fans and sensors are good but the evaporator in that zone does not frost, a refrigerant distribution issue may exist and requires professional service.
