Possible Causes
Door left open, Recent warm loading of bottles, Failed compressor, Refrigerant leak in sealed system
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work is required for basic checks. If sealed system work is needed, contact a certified technician.
Steps to address H1 high temperature alarm:
- 1. Check door seal: Ensure the door is fully closed and the gasket is sealing all around. Look for gaps, torn gasket, or shelves preventing closure.
- 2. Recent loading: If you recently loaded many warm bottles, the alarm may be normal. Allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to stabilize with the door closed.
- 3. Listen for compressor and fans: Confirm that the compressor and internal fan(s) are running periodically. If they are silent for long periods, there may be a cooling system fault.
- 4. Verify set temperature: Check that the setpoint is appropriate (e.g., 10–14°C for wine). Adjust if necessary.
- 5. Inspect for heat sources: Ensure the cooler is not placed in direct sunlight or next to ovens or radiators.
- 6. If no cooling is observed: If the interior remains warm after several hours with the compressor running, there may be a refrigerant leak or compressor failure. These are sealed system issues and should be handled by a professional.
- 7. Clear alarm: Many Brandt models allow you to silence the alarm by pressing a specific button (refer to user manual). The code will clear automatically once temperature returns to normal.
