Possible Causes
Control locked at minimum setpoint, Miscalibrated temperature sensor, Faulty main control board firmware
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal work is required for basic checks. Unplug the unit if you proceed to sensor or board inspection.
Steps to resolve LO indication:
- 1. Check user manual: On some Brandt models, LO simply indicates the lowest allowable set temperature. Confirm that this is not normal behavior.
- 2. Attempt to change setpoint: Use the temperature up/down buttons to adjust. If the display remains stuck on LO, perform a control reset by unplugging for 5–10 minutes.
- 3. Compare with a thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer inside the cabinet and compare actual temperature to the display. A large discrepancy suggests sensor or calibration issues.
- 4. Sensor test: Test the cabinet NTC sensor as described for E1. Replace if readings are out of specification.
- 5. Control board replacement: If the sensor is good and LO remains locked, the main control board may be misreading or misreporting temperature and may need replacement.
