Possible Causes
Control lock feature engaged, stuck control panel button, control panel firmware glitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal repair is needed for the lock feature, but always unplug the unit before removing the control panel if you suspect a stuck button.
CL usually indicates the control lock is turned on.
- Step 1 – Unlock controls: Press and hold the designated lock key (often the "Lock" or a combination such as "Up" and "Down" arrows) for 3–5 seconds until CL disappears. Refer to the Café user manual for the exact key sequence.
- Step 2 – Check for stuck buttons: If CL will not clear, inspect the control panel for a button that feels stuck or does not click. Gently work the button to free it.
- Step 3 – Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then plug it back in and attempt to unlock again.
- Step 4 – Replace control panel: If the lock cannot be cleared and buttons are unresponsive, the control panel (UI) may be defective and should be replaced with a Café-compatible assembly.
Do not pry aggressively on the touch panel surface; this can crack the glass or damage the electronics.
