Possible Causes

Failed magnetic door switch or reed sensor, misaligned door magnet, damaged door switch wiring, control board door input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any trim or accessing the door switch area.

dE indicates the control believes the door is open or cannot read the door switch correctly.

  • Step 1 – Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket makes uniform contact around the frame. Look for bottles or shelves preventing full closure.
  • Step 2 – Inspect door magnet and switch: Café wine coolers often use a magnetic reed switch in the cabinet and a magnet in the door. Verify the magnet is present and not loose. Locate the switch (usually near the top or side frame) and check for physical damage.
  • Step 3 – Test door switch: With the unit unplugged, remove the switch from the cabinet and disconnect its wires. Use a multimeter to check continuity while placing a magnet near the switch. The reading should change from open to closed when the magnet is present. Replace if it does not change.
  • Step 4 – Check wiring to control board: Follow the switch wires to the main control board and ensure the connector is secure and not corroded.
  • Step 5 – Replace faulty component: Install a new Café-compatible door switch or magnet as needed. If the switch and wiring are good but dE persists, the main control board door input may be faulty and require replacement.

After repair, confirm that the interior light turns off and the error clears when the door is closed.
