Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker or unplug the unit before removing any panels. Use caution when working near line-voltage components.
E7 can indicate that the control board is not receiving or providing proper low-voltage power to sensors, fans, or the UI.
- Step 1 – Verify outlet power: Plug a lamp or small appliance into the same outlet to confirm proper voltage. If the outlet is dead or unstable, correct the house wiring issue first.
- Step 2 – Inspect power cord and connections: With the unit unplugged, check the power cord for cuts or burns. Remove the rear lower panel and verify that the cord connections to the main control board terminal block are tight.
- Step 3 – Check board for damage: Examine the main control board for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or darkened areas around the low-voltage section.
- Step 4 – Disconnect loads (advanced): To isolate a shorted load, a technician may disconnect fan motors, lights, or other low-voltage loads one at a time and test if E7 clears. This is best done by a professional.
- Step 5 – Replace main control board: If line voltage is correct and no external shorts are found, replace the Café-compatible main control board, which includes the low-voltage power supply.
Do not bypass fuses or safety devices on the control board.
