Café
Short Cycling
Wine cooler cycles on and off frequently; compressor starts and stops in short intervals.

Possible Causes
Temperature sensor located too close to evaporator, control differential too narrow, oversized compressor for cabinet, high ambient temperature near unit, restricted airflow around condenser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before moving it or accessing sensors and coils.
- Step 1 – Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the sides and back of the wine cooler per Café installation instructions. Clean the condenser coil.
- Step 2 – Check ambient temperature: Avoid placing the unit near ovens, dishwashers, or direct sunlight, which can cause rapid cycling.
- Step 3 – Inspect sensor placement: Verify the cabinet thermistor is not directly in the cold air stream from the evaporator. Reposition slightly if necessary to sense average air temperature.
- Step 4 – Monitor operation: After adjustments, observe the unit for several hours. If short cycling persists, the control board or compressor may require professional evaluation.
Excessive short cycling can reduce compressor life and should be corrected.
