Possible Causes
Warped or torn door gasket, door hinges loose or bent, cabinet not level, magnetic strip in gasket weakened
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting hinges or replacing the gasket to avoid accidental fan or compressor operation.
- Step 1 – Inspect gasket: Look for tears, gaps, or hardened sections of the gasket. Close the door on a strip of paper at multiple points; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak.
- Step 2 – Warm and reshape: Use warm water and a cloth to clean the gasket. Gently warm warped areas with a hair dryer (on low) and reshape them to contact the cabinet.
- Step 3 – Level the unit: Adjust leveling legs so the door naturally swings closed and aligns with the cabinet.
- Step 4 – Tighten hinges: Check hinge screws for looseness and tighten as needed. If the door is sagging, adjust hinge position according to the service instructions.
- Step 5 – Replace gasket: If the gasket is damaged or will not seal, remove it from the door channel and install a new Café-compatible door gasket, pressing it fully into place.
After adjustments, check for uniform contact around the entire door perimeter.
