Possible Causes
Unit not level, compressor mounting grommets worn, condenser fan blade hitting shroud, copper tubing touching cabinet, loose shelves or bottle rattling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before reaching behind or underneath it.
- Step 1 – Level the cabinet: Use a level and adjust the front leveling legs so the unit is stable and does not rock.
- Step 2 – Isolate cabinet from surroundings: Ensure the sides and back are not touching walls or cabinets that can transmit vibration.
- Step 3 – Check internal items: Rearrange bottles and shelves to eliminate glass-on-glass rattling. Use shelf liners if needed.
- Step 4 – Inspect rear components: Remove the rear panel and check that the condenser fan blade is not rubbing on the shroud and that copper refrigerant lines are not vibrating against metal surfaces. Gently bend tubing away from contact points and secure with foam or clips.
- Step 5 – Compressor mounts: Inspect rubber grommets under the compressor. If deteriorated, have a technician replace them.
Most noise issues can be resolved with leveling and securing loose components.
