High Humidity or Door Seal Issue
Condensation or fogging on the inside of the glass door
Advertisements
Possible Causes
High ambient humidity, Frequent door openings, Door gasket leaking warm air, Failed double-glazed door seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is required for basic condensation issues.
Steps to reduce condensation:
- Check room conditions: If the room is very humid, some condensation is normal. Use a dehumidifier if possible.
- Limit door openings: Reduce the frequency and duration of door openings to minimize warm, moist air entering.
- Inspect door gasket: Ensure the gasket is sealing all around. Replace the door gasket if it is damaged or not contacting the frame.
- Door glass seal: If moisture appears between the panes of glass, the door's internal seal has failed. Replace the complete door assembly or door glass as supplied by Caple.
Note: Some models include a low-wattage heater around the door frame to reduce condensation; if this fails, a technician may need to test and replace it.
