Possible Causes
Failed upper-zone NTC sensor, Failed lower-zone NTC sensor, Wiring fault between zones and main PCB, Faulty dual-zone control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before accessing internal panels or the control board.
Steps to resolve E8:
- Identify affected zone: Compare the actual bottle temperature in each zone with the display. Determine whether the upper or lower zone is misreading or not cooling.
- Locate zone sensors: Each zone typically has its own cabinet NTC sensor, often behind a small cover on the rear or side wall of that zone.
- Inspect and test sensors: Remove the sensor covers and check wiring for damage. Disconnect each sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare readings between zones; a sensor with open or shorted resistance is faulty.
- Check harness to PCB: Trace the sensor wires back to the main control PCB, ensuring connectors are secure and not corroded.
- Replace faulty sensor: Install a new zone NTC temperature sensor for the affected compartment, routing the cable as originally installed.
- Control PCB: If both sensors test good but E8 persists, the dual-zone control PCB may have a communication or input fault and may need replacement.
Tip: After replacement, allow several hours for each zone to stabilize before judging temperature accuracy.
