Steps to address frost buildup:
- Manual defrost: Turn off and unplug the unit. Leave the door open and place towels to catch melt water. Allow all ice to melt completely.
- Inspect door gasket: After defrosting, check the gasket for gaps or damage. Close the door on a strip of paper around the perimeter; if it pulls out easily, replace the door gasket.
- Check defrost components: If frost returns quickly, access the evaporator and test the defrost heater and defrost sensor as described under error E4.
- Usage habits: Minimize door openings and avoid placing warm, humid items inside, which increase frost formation.
Tip: A small amount of condensation or light frost can be normal, but thick, hard ice indicates a fault.
