Blocked Defrost Drain
Water pooling at the bottom of the wine cooler interior

Possible Causes
Clogged drain hole behind internal rear panel, Ice blocking drain channel, Debris or mold in drain tube, Kinked or misrouted drain hose at rear
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before working inside. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
Steps to clear the drain:
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, at the bottom of the rear wall, locate the small defrost drain hole or channel.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner, cotton bud, or flexible plastic strip to gently clear any debris. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- Flush with warm water: Using a syringe or turkey baster, flush a small amount of warm (not boiling) water through the drain to melt any ice and carry away debris.
- Check rear drain tube: At the back of the unit, locate the drain tube leading to the evaporation tray above the compressor. Ensure it is not kinked or disconnected.
- Clean drip tray: Empty and clean the evaporation tray if accessible to prevent overflow and odors.
Tip: Regularly wiping condensation and ensuring the door is not left open for long periods will reduce drain blockages.
