Possible Causes
Temperature sensor located too close to evaporator, Poorly calibrated control PCB, Ambient temperature fluctuations, Oversized compressor for cabinet volume
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before moving sensors or accessing the control board.
Steps to reduce short cycling:
- Check sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet NTC sensor is not in direct airflow from the evaporator outlet; reposition slightly if possible to sense average air temperature.
- Stabilize ambient: Avoid placing the cooler near heat sources or in direct sunlight, which can cause rapid temperature swings.
- Allow load mass: Keeping the cooler reasonably stocked with bottles helps stabilize temperature and reduce cycling.
- Control PCB replacement: If cycling remains extreme and affects temperature stability, the main control PCB may have a faulty algorithm or sensor input and may need replacement.
Note: Some cycling is normal, but starts every few minutes with very short run times can shorten compressor life.
