Wine cooler door not closing properly or popping open

Safety: Have a second person support the door if removing hinge screws.

Steps to correct door closure:

• Check for obstructions: Ensure shelves and bottles are not protruding and hitting the door glass or frame.
• Level the unit: Adjust the front feet so the cooler leans slightly back; this helps the door close by gravity.
• Inspect gasket: Look for twisted, torn, or hardened sections of the door gasket. Warm the gasket gently with a hairdryer and reshape if slightly deformed.
• Adjust hinges: Loosen hinge screws slightly and realign the door so it sits square in the opening, then retighten. Replace worn door hinges if there is excessive play.
• Replace gasket: If the gasket is badly damaged or will not seal, install a new door gasket designed for your Caple model.

Note: After gasket replacement, close the door and allow the gasket to form to the cabinet for several hours before heavy use.
