Caple LED Light Module or Door Switch Failure

Wine cooler interior light not working but cooling is normal

Possible Causes

Failed LED light strip or module, Faulty magnetic door switch or reed switch, Loose wiring to light, Failed light driver circuit on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing light covers or control panels.

Steps to restore lighting:

  • Check light settings: Some Caple models allow the light to be turned off via the control panel. Confirm the light is not simply disabled.
  • Test door switch: Open and close the door while watching the display; some models show a door icon. If the cooler never detects the door as open, the door switch may be faulty.
  • Access light module: Remove the interior light cover (usually clipped or lightly screwed). Inspect the LED module for burn marks or discoloration.
  • Check connections: Ensure the light's connector is firmly plugged into the harness. Reseat it to clean contacts.
  • Replace LED module: If the module shows signs of failure or does not light when supplied, replace the LED light module specific to your Caple model.
  • Control PCB: If a new light and good switch still do not work, the light driver on the main control PCB may be faulty and the board may require replacement.

Note: Do not substitute non-original LED strips; incorrect voltage or current can damage the control board.
