Possible Causes
Normal automatic defrost cycle, Defrost sensor misreading causing extended defrost, Stuck defrost relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: On many Climadiff models, a dF indication is normal during automatic defrost and is not a fault.
- Observe duration: If dF appears only briefly (e.g., 15–30 minutes) and then returns to normal temperature display, no action is required.
- Check for excessive ice: If dF persists and the evaporator is heavily iced, unplug the unit and perform a full manual defrost (doors open, towels to catch water).
- Inspect defrost sensor and heater: If icing recurs quickly, test the defrost NTC and heater for proper operation (see E4).
- Control board check: If the unit remains in defrost and will not resume cooling, the defrost relay on the PCB may be stuck and the board will need replacement.
