Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay or PTC, Faulty inverter module (on inverter models), Loose compressor wiring, Main PCB power stage failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains. Work around the compressor only when the unit is fully de-energized.
- Listen for behavior: When powered, E8 often appears with a clicking sound from the compressor area or no compressor sound at all.
- Inspect start components: Remove the cover on the compressor terminals. Check the start relay/PTC and overload protector for signs of burning or cracking.
- Test start relay/PTC: Use a multimeter to check for continuity according to the part specifications. Replace if open or physically damaged.
- Check wiring: Ensure all spade connectors are tight on the compressor terminals and that the earth connection is secure.
- Inverter models: If your Climadiff uses an external inverter module, inspect it for burn marks or swollen components. Replacement of the inverter is typically required if faulty.
- If compressor still will not start: The compressor itself or the main PCB may be defective. This level of repair usually requires a qualified refrigeration technician.
