Possible Causes
Failed internal circulation fan motor, Fan blade obstructed by wiring or insulation, Fan connector loose at control board, Fan driver failure on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before accessing fans.
Steps:
- Listen for fan noise: When powered, you should hear a gentle fan sound from each zone. If one zone is silent, its fan may be faulty.
- Access the fan: Remove the interior rear panel in the affected zone to expose the evaporator/circulation fan.
- Inspect for obstructions: Check for wires, foam, or labels blocking the fan blade. Remove obstructions and ensure the blade spins freely.
- Test the fan: With a multimeter, check for voltage at the fan connector when the unit is calling for cooling. If voltage is present but the fan does not run, replace the fan motor.
- Check control board: If no voltage is present and wiring is intact, the main control board fan driver may be defective.
