Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Blocked rear ventilation around condenser, Failed condenser fan motor, Refrigerant leak or weak compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before moving or cleaning around the condenser area.
Steps:
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the door gasket is not warped or torn. Adjust leveling feet so the door self-closes.
- Clear ventilation: Costway wine coolers require clearance at the back and sides. Move the unit so there is at least several inches of space for airflow. Clean dust from the condenser coil with a soft brush or vacuum.
- Verify condenser fan operation (compressor models): With the rear panel removed and power briefly applied, confirm the condenser fan motor spins freely. If not, replace the fan motor.
- Check ambient temperature: If the room is very hot (above 30–32°C / 86–90°F), the cooler may struggle to reach setpoint. Improve room ventilation or relocate the unit.
- Refrigeration system issues: If the compressor runs constantly, the condenser is clean, and the fan works but H1 persists, there may be a refrigerant leak or weak compressor. This requires a professional refrigeration technician.
