Possible Causes
Failed Peltier module, Poor thermal contact due to dried thermal paste, Dust-clogged heat sinks, Failed Peltier power circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before disassembly. Heat sinks may be sharp.
Steps:
- Access Peltier assembly: Remove rear cover to expose the Peltier module sandwiched between hot and cold side heat sinks.
- Clean heat sinks: Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove dust from both heat sinks and fans.
- Check thermal contact: If you remove the Peltier module, clean off old thermal paste and apply a thin, even layer of new thermal compound before reassembly.
- Test module: Check for continuity across the Peltier module. Replace if open or physically cracked.
- Control board: If the module is good but not receiving power, inspect and possibly replace the main control board.
