Possible Causes
Faulty cabinet temperature sensor reading too warm, Stuck compressor relay on control board, Control board calibration error, Sensor not properly positioned in airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.
Steps:
- Verify with thermometer: Place an accurate thermometer inside and compare to the display. If the actual temperature is much lower, a sensor/control issue is likely.
- Inspect sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet temperature sensor is clipped in the correct location and not touching the evaporator directly, which can cause false readings.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance at known temperatures and compare to spec. Replace if out of range.
- Check control relay: If the compressor runs continuously even when the set temperature is reached, the compressor relay on the main control board may be stuck closed. Replace the board.
