Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Failed display/control panel, Oxidized connectors, Main control PCB communication driver fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Remove control panel: On Danby wine coolers, the touch control/display is usually at the top front or door. Remove screws or clips to access the back of the panel.
- Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat ribbon or harness between the UI and main board is fully inserted and not damaged. Reseat both ends.
- Inspect for moisture: Look for condensation or liquid damage around the control panel. Dry gently and correct any door gasket issues causing excess moisture.
- Visual inspection: Check the UI board for burnt spots or cracked solder joints at the connector.
- Test after reseating: Restore power and see if E6 clears and buttons respond normally.
- Replace faulty board: If the error persists, replace the user interface/display board first. If still unresolved, replace the main control PCB.
