Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice buildup blocking fan, Loose or damaged fan wiring, Control board fan driver failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing interior panels.
- Access evaporator fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check for ice: Look for ice buildup around the fan shroud. If present, fully defrost the unit and correct any defrost issues.
- Spin fan by hand: The blade should turn freely. If stiff, noisy, or wobbly, replace the fan motor.
- Inspect wiring: Verify the fan harness is connected securely and not damaged.
- Test operation: After reassembly, restore power and listen for the fan when the compressor runs. If it still does not run, the control board may not be powering it and may need replacement.
