Possible Causes
Sensor reading out of allowable range, Incorrect replacement thermistor installed, Loose sensor connection at control board, Control firmware error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before testing or replacing sensors.
- Confirm correct parts: If a sensor was recently replaced, verify it is the correct Danby part number for your model. Incorrect thermistor values can trigger F1.
- Inspect connections: Reseat the thermistor connector at the control board and at the sensor end.
- Measure resistance: Test the sensor at room temperature and compare to Danby’s spec. Replace if significantly off.
- Control reset: After sensor replacement, unplug the unit for several minutes to reset the control, then power up and check if F1 clears.
- Replace control board: If a known-good sensor still causes F1, the main control PCB may be misreading the sensor and should be replaced.
