Possible Causes

Failed compressor start relay or PTC, Faulty evaporator or condenser fan motor, Control board output failure, Shorted fan wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing the rear service panel or touching electrical components.

  • Access rear compartment: Remove the back cover to expose the compressor, condenser fan, and control board.
  • Check fans: Spin the condenser fan blade by hand (with power off). It should move freely. If seized or noisy, replace the fan motor.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for burnt or disconnected wires to the compressor and fans.
  • Test compressor start device: Remove the start relay/PTC from the compressor and shake it gently. If it rattles or shows burn marks, replace it with a Danby-compatible part.
  • Power test (advanced): With caution and proper tools, verify that the control board is sending power to the fan and compressor outputs when cooling is demanded. If not, the main control PCB may be faulty.
  • Replace failed components: Install new fan motor or start relay as needed. If outputs are dead, replace the main control PCB.
