Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Failed evaporator fan, Dirty condenser coils, Low refrigerant charge or sealed system leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: You can perform basic checks with the unit plugged in, but unplug before removing panels or touching internal components.
- Check door seal: Ensure the door is fully closing and the gasket is not torn, warped, or obstructed by shelves or bottles.
- Verify airflow: Listen for the evaporator fan running when the compressor is on. If silent, the fan may have failed or be blocked by ice.
- Clean condenser: Pull the unit away from the wall, unplug it, and vacuum dust from the rear condenser coils and ventilation grilles. Poor airflow can cause high temperatures.
- Allow recovery time: If the door was recently open for loading, allow several hours for temperature to drop and the H1 alarm to clear.
- Check for frost or ice: Heavy frost on the evaporator can block airflow. Defrost the unit fully and monitor performance.
- If temperature does not drop: A sealed system issue (low refrigerant, compressor problem) may exist. This requires a licensed refrigeration technician.
