Possible Causes

Stuck compressor relay on control board, Misreading cabinet thermistor, Incorrect temperature calibration, Control board failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing sensors or the control board.

  • Verify temperature setting: Raise the set temperature to a warmer value and monitor for several hours.
  • Check sensor placement: Remove the interior rear panel and ensure the cabinet thermistor is not directly on the evaporator coil. Reposition slightly away from the coldest area.
  • Test thermistor: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to Danby’s spec. Replace if out of range.
  • Observe compressor cycling: If the compressor never shuts off even when the interior is very cold, the control board relay may be stuck. Replace the main control PCB.
  • Protect contents: Until repaired, move sensitive bottles to another storage to prevent freezing.
