Possible Causes
Defective magnetic reed switch, Misaligned door magnet, Broken door switch wiring, Faulty door input circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing trims or panels around the door frame.
E10 indicates the control board believes the door is open when it is actually closed.
- Locate the door sensor: On many De Dietrich wine coolers, a magnetic reed switch is hidden in the cabinet frame, with a magnet embedded in the door.
- Check alignment: Close the door slowly and verify that the magnet lines up with the switch location. If the door has dropped on its hinges, adjust the hinges so the magnet aligns correctly.
- Test the reed switch: Access the switch from inside the cabinet frame or behind a trim. With a multimeter on continuity, place a magnet near the switch; it should open/close as the magnet moves. If not, replace the switch.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the switch wires are intact and firmly connected to the main harness.
- Board input check: If the switch and magnet are good, the door input circuit on the PCB may be faulty, requiring board replacement.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing the faulty component, restore power and confirm that the door alarm stops when the door is closed and that E10 clears.
