Possible Causes
Open or shorted evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from evaporator coil, Damaged sensor harness, Corroded connector at main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing panels.
- Access evaporator area: Remove interior shelves and the rear interior panel inside the cooler compartment (usually held by screws). This exposes the evaporator coil and fan.
- Locate sensor: Find the small probe clipped or taped to the evaporator tubing. Ensure it is firmly attached and not hanging loose.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires to the pass-through grommet. Look for damage from ice, rubbing, or rodents. Repair any obvious damage and ensure wires are not touching the fan blades.
- Connector reseat: At the rear of the unit, remove the back cover and locate the sensor connector on the main control PCB. Unplug and reconnect it.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the sensor is cracked, corroded, or tests open/short with a multimeter, replace it with a Della Marta evaporator NTC sensor. Reattach it securely to the evaporator coil using the original clip or aluminum tape.
