How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler. The compressor and related parts can be hot; allow them to cool before touching.
- Access compressor compartment: Remove the rear lower panel to expose the compressor, start relay, and overload protector.
- Check connections: Verify that the spade terminals on the compressor, PTC relay, and overload are tight and not burnt.
- Inspect relay and overload: Remove the PTC relay and overload from the compressor pins. Shake the relay gently; if it rattles excessively or shows burn marks, it is likely faulty.
- Replace start components: Install a new Della Marta compressor start relay and overload protector as a set. Reconnect wiring as originally configured.
- Test operation: Restore power and monitor. If E5 returns and the compressor hums then clicks off, the compressor itself may be locked and require professional replacement.
