Possible Causes
Stuck relay on main control PCB, Shorted temperature sensor reading too warm, Control board calibration error, Incorrect sensor placement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing controls.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes to reset the control. Restore power and monitor if L1 returns.
- Sensor placement: Ensure the cabinet sensor is not touching the evaporator coil directly; it should sense air temperature, not coil temperature.
- Check for ice: Inspect the evaporator for heavy ice buildup that could confuse temperature readings. Defrost fully if needed.
- Control board replacement: If the unit continues to overcool regardless of setpoint, replace the main control PCB which contains the thermostat logic and compressor relay.
